Knee
The knee is the largest joint in the body and is susceptible to varying types of injury. It is formed by four bones and surrounded by muscles that aid movement, ligaments that provide stability, and cartilages that act as a protective covering on the bony ends of the joint.
All these work in unison to produce movement in the knee and an injury to the any of these ligaments, like an Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) tear, which is common among athletes, would largely affect the stability of the joint. Same goes for fractures of any of the involved bones and osteoarthritis, in which both ultimately leads a decrease mobility or a limited range of motion of the joint. Dr. Mark McMahon is one of the best Arthroscopic Surgeons in the States and can perform minimally invasive procedures while providing a world-class care for any type of knee problem.
